Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Tenants of ARDEN HOUSE OWNERS INC buildings note generally responsive owners and attentive, helpful supers, contributing to a friendly, secure environment with respectful neighbors. The properties are often praised forspacious layouts, good lighting, and convenient amenities like laundry rooms. However, significant pest issues—especially with roaches and mice—persist despite repeated treatments, indicating a need for more effective extermination efforts. Noise can be a problem, particularly on lower floors with thin walls. Maintenance timeliness varies, with some delays reported. Package theft and security concerns have also been raised, suggesting improvements in building oversight would enhance tenant satisfaction.

great building, but some roach issues
Former Tenant
Pros:
generous apartment layout, amazing super, great neighbors, quiet, wired for fios, laundry in building
Cons:
sadly, roaches. it varies by apartment, but mine has a severe infestation I can never get rid of. like, severe. with every type of cockroach. they even come up my bathtub and kitchen sinks
packages have 50/50 shot in getting stolen
like many new york apartments, the heating system demands your windows to be open in the winter / put the AC on, otherwise it's way too hot (and you can't control it)
Advice to owner:
fumigate the entire building to solve the coach problem

BROOKLYN RENTERS BEWARE
Former Tenant
Pros:
Apt is in a great location, Laundry and Elevator but often needs maintenance
Cons:
This building is a co-op & unless you're dealing with a truthfully responsive unit owner, it's going to be miserable. The management over this building (Morris Rokowsky/Solomon Rokowsky) are incredibly unprofessional, and if it ever comes to dealing with them be careful. Money-hounding management, only looking for their next cent. Really check out who you're working with before you take the plunge!
Advice to owner:
Offer your tenants basic decency

Arden House review
Former Tenant
Pros:
Has doorman at night. Spacious. Great light from outside. Quiet street. Neighbors are very nice
Cons:
BUGS(lots of them). Thin walls. People can be loud sometimes maybe it’s because of the thin walls though.
Advice to owner:
Have pest control come in way more frequently.

Don’t live on the first floor
Former Tenant
Pros:
secure lobby, friendly neighbors, the superintendent is very kind and attentive
Cons:
Living on the first floor there is lots of noise, you can hear people talking outside your window as late as 3am. It’s an old building with a major roach problem.
Advice to owner:
Every unit on the first floor probably needs to be properly fumigated in order for the issue to be resolved

Has a lot of charm but also roaches
Former Tenant
Pros:
Most neighbors are very friendly Parking garage Elevator Many closets Big bright windows
Laundry machines use an app
Cons:
So.many.roaches. and if you don’t run downstairs as soon as your packages arrive there’s a 50/50 chance you will actually get it.
Advice to owner:
Get a package cage or a camera buzzer system. And get the exterminator in here on a regular basis. Also, you should let the tenants know when there are going to be repair people on the roof. We’ve had break-ins and it’s super stressful to see someone outside my window and not know whether they are supposed to be there or not!

Advice to owner:
Loving all the changes lately and I hope they continue.
