Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant reviews of buildings managed by Milton Davis reveal a mixed but predominantly negative experience with management. Common issues include poor building cleanliness, persistent pest infestations, and heating problems, especially during winter. Garbage management is often criticized, alongside concerns over maintenance delays and unresponsiveness from management. While some buildings benefit from good locations and decent neighbors, problems with security, mold, and outdated facilities persist. Tenants frequently mention abrupt rent hikes and inadequate communication, further affecting satisfaction. Despite a few positives like respectful maintenance staff and occasional prompt repairs, management’s lack of consistent attention to tenant complaints and building upkeep remains a recurring theme.

Advice: Stay away

Pros

Cheap - but you get what you pay for

Cons

Every pest you could ever imagine, leaks, mold, the list goes on. There was a pigeon living in the hallway at one point. Unlivable

Meets Expectations, Great Location, Quirky NY

Pros

It’s a great neighborhood, prime location, & subway accessible. Each of the apartments are truly spacious, narrow but very long, and multiple apartments come with an in-unit television set. The repair team is very respectful and kind and works hard. Management is also very kind and understanding, albeit not the most communicative. This all said, we’ve not had any pest or rodent issues, anytime an appliance has experienced issues they’ve been prompt to replace, and the majority of people that I’ve known living in this building, including myself, have loved it - quirks and all.

Cons

The shared hall & stairs are messy and unkempt, and being on a busy street, the building could benefit from some type of virtual doorman buzzing system for package security.

Advice to the owners

Management could be more communicative, specifically regarding repair requests.
