Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Herbert Donner suggest a concerning trend regarding management and tenant experiences. Many residents report issues with pest control, particularly persistent roach infestations, along with significant delays in response to maintenance requests. While some tenants appreciate the kind building staff and the layout of the apartments, concerns over rising rents and unresponsive management overshadow the positives. Noise levels can be problematic due to poor insulation. Overall, prospective renters should be aware of the inconsistent management practices and ongoing pest issues within these properties.

Good luck with this one

Pros

Building staff is kind. Evening doorman is nice. Laundry room recently redone.

Cons

Massive roach problem. Management is evil. Super is very unresponsive. WILL raise your rent an insane amount every year and pinch you for every possible penny

Advice to the owners

Stop being every renter’s nightmare. Fix the roach problem. Maybe give us access to the massive side yard you always have fenced off?. Horrible.

The roaches though...

Pros

Friendly neighbors, great location, helpful building staff

Cons

The german roaches. Exterminator comes every 2 weeks but only about 10-20% of the units are sprayed (per the sign up sheet). Roaches end up in the common areas as well. The windows are also terribly insulated so heavy curtains are a must in the winter.

Advice to the owners

Enforce extermination of all of the units and common areas
