Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants report that Kamran Elghanayan's buildings at 595 Dean Street offer modern, clean, and well-maintained apartments with friendly, responsive staff, including helpful doormen and maintenance teams. The location near parks and multiple subway lines is highly praised. However, consistent concerns include noise issues—especially from a nearby dog park and street traffic—poor soundproofing, and occasional water pressure and ventilation problems. Some highlight security lapses and lax enforcement around non-smoking policies. Package handling and building amenities like the pool come with added fees and occasional operational issues. Overall, while management is generally attentive to repairs, renters suggest improvements in noise control, security, and tenant policy enforcement.

Love it here

Pros

- Spacious layouts (depending on what you choose) - Great neighborhood and close to Prospect Park! So nice to walk around this area of Brooklyn and 5 min walk to fort Greene / park slope / Clinton hill - Better sound proofing (concrete floor/ceilings) - Nice amenities (direct Chelsea piers access is great and at a discount) - Staff is really kind and helpful - subway access is great, can basically get to every colored subway line easily - Trash management is great

Cons

- dog noise is a common complaint and I’m in west tower. Tbh it can be annoying sometimes but I normally just tune it out. I’ve dealt with worse apartment noise in NYC and its worth it for the pros - water pressure could be better in the showers but it’s doable

Good building, bad maintenance, horrible security

Pros

Amenities, overall build of apartments, location

Cons

Inconsistent water (both temperature and pressure), poor management. Ongoing water issues. AC constantly breaks, and the apartments run HOT (given amount of light) Multiple apartments also broken into - front desk staff actively let in people into apartments who were not listed as having access. Management provided no remedy or clear explanation of how break ins happened.

Advice to the owners

Resolve recurring maintenance issues. Improve security
