Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by David Jacobson reveal a mix of positives and significant challenges. While many praise the convenient East Village locations, affordable rents, and sometimes responsive management, the frequent issues with pest infestations (mice, cockroaches), poor building maintenance, and heating problems are recurrent themes. Garbage management is generally well-handled, but cleanliness varies widely between buildings. Management responsiveness is often rated as slow or uneven, with complaints about delayed repairs, unaddressed safety concerns, and occasional communication lapses. Noise levels and neighbor quality also fluctuate. Overall, renters should expect charming but aging buildings with management capable but inconsistent in addressing persistent upkeep and tenant concerns.

Overall fine building

Pros

Cheap, management is responsive and fast with fixes.

Cons

Kind of gross and old. Issues with mice and cockroaches.

Its a start

Pros

I liked the location to the 1st Ave L train. But, it did feel away from the parts of the EV that I want to be at.

Cons

Its a lot of units in this building. Expect to hear your neighbors around you in all directions. I faced the back patio and dealt with parties late into the night keeping me up.
