Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Francis Greenburger presents a mixed picture. Positive reviews praise well-located properties, responsive supers living onsite, and clean common areas, especially at 502 Amsterdam Avenue. However, significant concerns surface at other locations like 234 Thompson Street and 174 Spring Street, highlighting pest infestations (bed bugs, rodents), persistent noise issues, neglected maintenance, security lapses, and slow or indifferent management response. Rent increases and aging infrastructure also cause dissatisfaction. Overall, renters can expect variability in management quality depending on the building, with some properties better maintained and more responsive than others, often requiring attention to pest control, noise mitigation, and timely repairs.

Trauma first apartment

Pros

Location & windows

Cons

Bed bugs, negligent super, mice/rats, mold. I wouldn’t wish my experiences here on my worst enemy. Lobby was flooding for 4+ months - BUCKETS of water and ceiling was nearly caved in. If there is an emergency within the overpriced apartment you’re paying for, forget it, especially if it’s not within their business hours.

Great apartment—first move

Pros

The super is super responsive and lives in the building. He is very nice and the units are large. Perfect for a couple. Beautiful neighborhood.

Cons

No cons. Great building!
