Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants in Ahron Freidus-managed buildings praise the attentive, friendly elevator operators and doormen, reflecting well on staff quality. The apartments tend to be spacious with good natural light, located conveniently near key Manhattan spots. Buildings are generally clean with well-handled garbage management and effective heating. However, pest control remains a concern, with frequent cockroach sightings and calls for more frequent or thorough extermination efforts. Some residents report sporadic noise, especially near police stations, and occasional responsiveness issues from ownership. Rent-stabilized units are common, and the overall environment is valued for its community feel despite some pest and noise drawbacks.

Sad to leave

Pros

Loved living here - the doormen are elevator attendants because it’s an older elevator that they need to operate, but they’re all so lovely. My apartment was gut renovated and lovely. It’s south facing on a northeast corner which is great for sun.

Cons

Older building for sure but the apartments themselves are typically renovated.

Hidden gem in Gramercy

Pros

-Great building and nice neighbors -Excellent light exposure -Very spacious units for rent (good bang for your buck) -Good location (10-15 mins walking from Union Square, Madison Square Park, etc.) -Close to Stuyvesant Square -Nice, friendly and responsive in-building Management team -RENT STABILIZED BUILDING

Cons

-Occassional waterbug sightings. Building has pest control come by once a month to spray but still there are moments of bugs popping up in kitchen/bathrooms (usually come out of walls already dead). -Overall, a great apartment otherwise!

Advice to the owners

Double down on pest control by coming more than once a month.
