Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of buildings managed by Jordan Platt often praise the cleanliness and well-maintained common areas, along with responsive and courteous superintendents who address concerns promptly. However, several renters highlight issues with noise, especially thin floors allowing sound between units, and inconsistent heating that can be insufficient or overly warm. Some express frustration over unauthorized subletting that affects building tranquility. Garbage management and pest control generally receive positive remarks. Recommendations for management include improving soundproofing, addressing heating system reliability, and monitoring sublease activity more closely to ensure a comfortable living environment for all residents.

Slumlord subleaser in building

Pros

Majority of the time great neighbors and supers are awesome

Cons

Please do NOT let slumlord sub leaders take over building!!! Have multiple tenants now living above me, no rugs, a dog and cat loud get togethers (pounding on the floors NO RUGS from midnight on including mid week) unit it technically rented to a married couple that is 60+…..but I’ve never seen even when I’ve gone upstairs

Advice to the owners

Pay attention to units and units being subleased to MANY people illegally

Pros

I've lived in this building for several years, and overall love living here. The apartment is beautiful. Great location- close enough to Austin, but far enough to have less street noise. We've never had any major issues- Carlos, the super has always been responsive and courteous in all the years we've lived here. Pretty clean.

Cons

Unfortunately, you can hear everything through the floors- even with rugs. Also, the heat is sweltering when it's on, and opening the window doesn't seem to help a ton, unless there's enough of a breeze.

Advice to the owners

Perhaps some type of noise barrier insulation? Also, if there are any spare rooms for this, a gym in building would be amazing.
