Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by Darin Goldstein reveal a mixed management reputation. Responsive superintendents often help maintain apartments well, with good pest control and generally quiet neighbors in some locations. However, common issues include slow owner responsiveness, neglected maintenance (especially heating, plumbing, and elevator problems), pest infestations, and occasional safety concerns like package theft and neighborhood disturbances. Communication gaps and unprofessional conduct from management are frequent complaints, compounded by inconsistent upkeep of building infrastructure. While some tenants appreciate location and renovations, others urge more timely repairs, better communication, and improved security measures to enhance livability across these properties.

Lived for a year, good building

Pros

Nice building Superintendent was very nice and chill and would take care of any issues Apartment was in a good state and kept in good condition Had a good negotiation back in pandemic

Cons

Elevator sometimes would get stuck Packages in lobby get stolen sometimes Management company is a bit bad with their paperwork and kinda rude When I lived there, sometimes there would be a couple with DV problems sadly on the lower floor and cops would be there sometimes.

Advice to the owners

Package lockers would be nice

Needs Better Management

Pros

They repaint a lot and have an elevator. The garbage never gets too messy. The super is probably the best part of the building.

Cons

R&E Leasing Management is so sketchy. They will randomly pair you with roommates and are not responsive when you try to suggest your own friends to take over the sublease of each individual room. They make so much money off of us and keep raining the rent really high.

Advice to the owners

Be more responsive to your tenants please! Especially about roommates. It’s difficult to live people you’re not compatible with.
