Could have been better
Pros
privacy, the neighborhood, access to backyard. landlord was responsive.
Cons
Landlord lied about being part of a program that made her basement legal to rent. there was multiple roach infestation and had to get the basement exterminated multiple times. she almost made me pay for it until i made a complaint to 311. basement easily floods. no stove. really dark, terrible lighting. landlord is emotionally manipulative.
Advice to the owners
Don't rent out illegal basements and stop being emotionally manipulative to tenants.
