Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by Daniel Finger reveal a pattern of ongoing maintenance challenges, poor cleanliness, and inadequate garbage management, particularly at 246 East 53 Street. Many residents report unresponsiveness from management and superintendents, slow or neglected repairs, pest infestations, and heating issues. There are also disturbing accounts of a problematic elderly tenant whose presence negatively impacts community experience. While some buildings like 223 East 21 Street and 210 East 95 Street show occasional positives with quiet neighbors and decent units, management responsiveness and building upkeep remain inconsistent. Prospective renters should prepare for management delays and consider these factors carefully before leasing.

Decent building under construction

Pros

The building is quiet and functional. My unit is pretty nice, despite needing repairs fairly frequently. No laundry on site but some units may have it.

Cons

A lot of upkeep is needed but I’d you put work into your unit it’s a great spot. The common areas were pretty dodgy but they are currently redoing the common areas and slowly updating the units.

Advice to the owners

Thank you for updating the common areas!

Beware, the owners do not return security deposits. No reasons given.

Pros

It is very close to major subway hubs.

Cons

The owners finger & finger are non responsive. They do not take care to clean the building or respond to any requests, i.e. a broken stove for 3 months. Garbage area is riddled with rats and mice. Constant hallway obstructions act as fire hazards.
