Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of buildings managed by Andrew Spodek appreciate well-sized, rent-stabilized apartments with friendly neighbors and generally clean, pet-friendly environments. The management shows reasonable responsiveness, but some reviews highlight difficulties reaching staff and delayed superintendent availability. Pest control remains an inconsistent issue, with occasional reports of roaches and bed bugs. Garbage areas sometimes lack proper upkeep, and communication about maintenance or water interruptions could improve. Residents enjoy strong water pressure and consistent heat but note heating controls are limited. Overall, the management is reliable yet could enhance tenant relations and infrastructure upkeep for a better living experience.

Mostly good with some issues

Pros

Brick pet friendly building with rent stabilized apartments. Neighbors are all nice. Elevator consistently works and is fixed quickly when there’s issues. Consistent heat and hot water. The super is responsive to calls when available.

Cons

The renovated apartments were cheaply done so there’s too many tiny spaces where roaches can live and can’t be sealed off. There’s no control over the heat in the apartments. The trash area outside is always a mess (although seems to be pest free). The super only works M-F 9-5. Intermittent issues with stolen packages despite a locked mail room with a door that doesn’t close unless you slam it.

Overall good, management isn't the best

Pros

Neighbors are great, super is helpful, apartment units themselves are really nice

Cons

Management is impossible to reach, elevator breaks frequently, communication isn't great
