Good deal but I'd look elsewhere
Pros
Very fair rent price for the size of the apartment. Close to transportation. The landlord is responsive and fair. Common areas are kept clean and the laundry room is never busy and everything works. Original floors are lovely and in good condition. Original tub is lovely and was reglazed before I moved in.
Cons
There is a new super who is not as attentive as the old one. Trash piles up in the trash area. Some apartments have been gut renovated at some point and the walls are thinner than the original walls that were probably lathe. Can hear EVERYTHING from adjacent apartments and the neighbors are not neighborly. Not the safest street or section of the neighborhood. Hear gunshots at times.
Good Super, Pay for What You Get
Pros
The building was cleaned often, the super is GREAT and I never had any major issues while living here. It’s an old building so some pests and breakdown is to be expected, but when I brought issues up they were taken care of. Rent stabilized.
Cons
Like I said, it’s an old building. The appliances are old and there were some pests, but nothing out of control.
