Good value, with some typical issues.
Former Tenant
Pros:
Great neighborhood, nice neighbors. Close to amazing restaurants and shops on Washington Avenue and Vanderbilt, walkable to Crown Heights, Fort Greene, Downtown Brooklyn. Great Subway access (2/3/4/Q). Minutes to Brooklyn Museum, Library, and Prospect Park. The super is amazing - doesn't live on site, but is very kind and reasonably responsive.
Cons:
Building is old, and that comes with a few things. It's a walk up, and the stairs are narrow and steep. There are pests (cockroaches and mice). An exterminator comes every month, and they've done a great job of preventing all but a few cockroaches. We've pretty consistently had at least 1 mouse, which I'm not thrilled with. Street is pretty loud/active (not the management company's fault, just something to know). Management isn't great about responding to maintenance issues and/or providing notice ahead of things like inspections.
Advice to owner:
Take appropriate steps to prevent mice.

Former Tenant
Pros:
Wide, clean stairwell areas. Super responsive to calls and kind. Communicative about building-wide concerns, ie giving heads up when water needed to be shut off for servicing.
Nice layouts.
Cons:
Difficult to take advantage of once-per-month exterminator / work around their schedule. Pest control challenging - dealt with cockroaches and mice in 2020-2021.
