Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for buildings managed by Evan Psyllos reveals a mixed management performance. Some buildings, especially those in Astoria, receive praise for responsive superintendents, decent heating, pest control, and respectful neighbors, creating fairly quiet, affordable living with classic architecture. However, several properties, notably 157-11 Sanford Avenue, suffer from persistent cleanliness issues, poor garbage management, rodent and bedbug infestations, unreliable heating, elevator shortages, and security concerns including package theft and vagrants. Maintenance requests often face delays or lack resolution, and some buildings exhibit structural and safety problems. Tenants advise more proactive upkeep, better pest control, and improved security measures to enhance living conditions.

don’t be fooled by the outside

Pros

It’s not the worst building in the area

Cons

This building still sucks - laundry room hasn’t been open in almost two years because of bed bugs. hallways are never clean and littered with trash. packages are stolen in the lobby. There is one elevator in a building that clearly needs two plus the stairs are not sturdy so you always feel like you will trip. constant infestation of bugs and rodents. Baby mice run around in the hallways. I’ve had to buy special treatment for roaches because it used to get so out of hand.

Advice to the owners

Please do a better job of maintaining this apartment building if you’re going to raise the rent.
