Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback on buildings managed by Charles Schwartz reveals a mixed management experience. Positive points include clean buildings, responsive and professional superintendents, well-maintained amenities like gyms and rooftops, and attentive doormen. However, concerns persist regarding management responsiveness, with some renters noting slow or limited availability. Noise issues, problematic neighbors, pest control challenges, and occasional maintenance delays are highlighted. Tenants advise management to improve communication, appliance quality, and security measures especially around package theft. While many tenants appreciate the property's cleanliness and amenities, some find the apartments overpriced relative to neighborhood conditions. Overall, management shows effort but needs enhanced responsiveness and upkeep consistency.

Overpriced for Area

Pros

Close to train, close to grocery stores, helpful super

Cons

LOUD neighbors and THIN walls. can only reach management 3-4 days of the week, laundry room facilities break down frequently. Neighbors are not clean and will trash hallways and elevators when hosting

Advice to the owners

Frustrating management but amazing staff

Pros

-Super helpful and nice building staff -Very responsive and professional super -Solid amenities -Heat and AC work well

Cons

-Unresponsive management - small things can take weeks to get resolved -Very poorly constructed - sink is crooked, outlets are crooked with visible gaps, particle-wood doors with flaking finish, cupboards get stuck open/closed, etc. -Electric stove can barely boil water - looked online and it's a budget option -Unit turnover is a rush job - paint specks all over floor, paint on window frames and door handles, painted-over outlets, etc.

Advice to the owners

Spend the time to maintain units.
