Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews for Brian Newman's buildings reveal a mixed management track record. Tenants appreciate reasonable rents, decent locations, and occasionally responsive management staff. Several praise clean common areas and friendly neighbors, with some highlighting on-site laundry and good water pressure. However, chronic issues persist such as heating failures during winter, pest infestations (notably roaches and rodents), and ongoing maintenance delays. Many renters report unresponsive superintendents and management, frequent package theft, and structural problems like ceiling leaks and mold. Garbage management varies but is generally adequate. While some tenants recommend these buildings for short-term or budget-conscious stays, a clear need for better upkeep and quicker owner responsiveness emerges.

Long Term Tenant Same Old Problems

Pros

A good deal in the area and rent doesn’t ever go up too much. Laundry in unit and dishwasher.

Cons

Lots of structural damage that cause ceiling leaks and caving in. Heat goes out every year for a week. Endless roach and rodent problem

Pros

rent stabilized, nice location, friendly super

Cons

there is a roach stuck and painted on to the hallways which is a disquieting warning for the units themselves. through much caulk, advion, and untreated ocd I was able to curb the infestation but be prepared for bugs.
