Filthy building, unresponsive landlords

Honestly the only pro is its location (very close to trains) and the piano facade is cool and the AC and heating was good
Cons
Dead roaches everywhere, you WILL get bugs in your apartment unless you spray Raid at every entrance. Laundry doesn’t work unless you live in bottom floors due to needing Bluetooth to connect to pay. Apartment was not painted for new tenants, dirty walls, different colored paints, scuffs, burns in wood floor, just overall very shoddy craftsmanship. Had to install my own doorknob in my closet and fix another that wouldn’t close correctly. Landlords do not respond due to religious reasons on weekends and has no alternative for contact on holidays. Trash piles up out front because there aren’t proper bins for separating recycling. Rooms are tiny and awkward dimensions so you can’t open your closet all the way, etc. Stay away

Landlord goes by Jay Fried, real name Joel Friedman. Unresponsive, no voicemessage set up. Management, Faigy Mutzen, will sometimes reply to emails, promise and action and do nothing. In building Washer/Drier have been broken for over 7 months, other neighbours have reported it broken for years, although in lease. There are roaches in the building. Mold. Leaks. There is no real a management, just a email to a unresponsive guy. Although advertised with a gym and in building laundry, there is no gym. Process with Doorway NYC is extremely chaotic. Someone with all the mail keys has been going through everyones mail and throwing it on the floor in the hall. Ceiling in bathroom is crumbling. Windows are not good, lots of cold come in which results in huge bill.

Be reachable, fix your building.
