Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant feedback for Isaac Jacobs' buildings reveals a mix of positive amenities and challenging management issues. Residents appreciate the variety of amenities like rooftop access, gyms, pools, and attentive supers who respond reasonably well to maintenance requests. However, recurring problems include poor communication, delayed or inadequate repairs, frequent appliance malfunctions, and unaddressed pest infestations. Several renters cite aggressive or unethical management practices, notably concerning security deposits and rent increases. Noise levels and respect for shared spaces vary by building, with some describing disruptive neighbors. Overall, prospective tenants should expect decent amenities but prepare for management inconsistencies and occasional building maintenance frustrations.

Reviews

It’s okay, but that’s it.

Pros

Fairly clean, trash picked up, super gets back to you quickly, and building feels safe and secure

Cons

Crazy, eclectic group in the building, no central AC and some rooms don’t have windows to the outside causing the apartment to be extremely hot in summer months, shower drain had an issue almost continuously, A/Cs we did have went out at least 3x a summer and had to be fixed, and weird credit reporting thing happened during our lease which management did solve but we went about 2 weeks with a pretty big ding on our reports because management had reported our entire leases as unpaid since the beginning of the lease term.

Advice to the owners

Redo the window AC units that don't work. Put in an elevator that is up to code.

Quiet space with private neights

Pros

Trash is taken care of quickly. No real issues with water or electric. No amenities but backyard area is fine (no one ever uses it).

Cons

No elevator makes the stairs annoying after a while. Also can be a pain to move things in and out.

Advice to the owners

It's a fine place.
