Incredible value for location but beware of tradeoffs
Pros
The location is incredible and the rent is great value considering that. Moreover, the cafeteria does do its best to provide balanced meals (i.e. fruits and salads).
Cons
The wifi isn't able to handle anything beyond casual internet surfing which can be difficult if you're doing anything more involved while working remote. There was once a 3-day stretch where the entire building didn't have any wifi as well. On that note, there were multiple elevator outages that spanned several days, which created serious time issues given that there are only 2 elevators for the building. The other con is that there is a strict no-guest policy and no-cooking policy.
Good for Transitioning, Then Exit
Pros
Flexible rent timeline — I was month to month. Most of the staff is nice. Great location. No funiture needed.
Cons
There are a lot of rules; you become really paranoid when you live here long enough. It’s literally dorm rooms. No kitchens, cafe is downstairs.
Advice to the owners
N/A : The Salvation Army owns and runs this place, so I doubt they are looking to change anything.
