Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback for Randy Glick's buildings reveals a mixed management experience. Communication and transparency from the owner are often criticized, with tenants feeling uninformed during emergencies and rent hikes. Garbage management shows inconsistency, sometimes detracting from the building environment despite efforts by supers. Heating generally functions well, but water pressure and noise insulation can be problematic. Pest control varies from effective to inadequate, notably reports of bed bugs in some units. While some residents find management responsive and rent reasonably controlled, overall renters recommend improvements in transparency, garbage handling, and pest management to elevate living conditions.

Great spot, shady management

Pros

Great area! Apartments are nice and generally decently kept. Super is pretty responsive. Rent payment is easy via an online portal. Pest control comes regularly, you just have to sign up for them to come to your unit specifically.

Cons

The unit directly next to me caught fire overnight after the tenant was evicted. I was out of town and management never gave notice on what happened even though it affected several units. They plaid it off like they were just renovating post-eviction. Had to find out from the ladies who run the laundromat downstairs. They ended up raising my rent $500 despite their neglectful communication.

Ok Building (5D)

Pros

My unit was recently updated before I moved in. Lots of closet space, little to no vermin, save the occasional roach, low rent, responsive management. Never raised our rent too much year over year and got a rent deduction during Covid

Cons

So ridiculously hot in the winter, walls in the building are paper thin so you could hear every conversation, neighbors tend to be younger, terrible water pressure, and Super when I was there was super defensive and didn’t want to do anything,
