Advice to the owners
Based on my experience with Kew Gardens Realty Co., LLC, I would advise prospective tenants to be cautious before renting a property managed by this company. I believe management misrepresented the building’s cockroach problems. I have also experienced serious issues with rent payments not being accurately reflected in my tenant ledger. One payment remained unrecorded for approximately 14 days, requiring me to follow up and request an immediate correction. Tenants should keep proof of every payment and regularly review their ledgers. Management also entered my apartment without my permission to leave a notice inside. The company has filed a court petition against me with a balance that I dispute. Based on my payment records, the amount demanded includes approximately $1,700–$2,000 more than I owe. This has been an extremely frustrating and stressful experience. I encourage tenants to document all payments, communications, and maintenance complaints carefully.
Lovely Neighborhood BUT NEEDS UPDATES

Many people have been living in this building/complex for 10+ years. Very family oriented and safe. I see lots of elders taking walks past midnight and most of my neighbors know each other. My apartment is a truly spacious one bedroom (I.e full kitchen separate from living room). It rarely ever gets loud and when it does, it’s mostly kids playing outside. It is also rent stabilized!
Cons
We are currently dealing with a rat infestation in the basement (which is where the trash is). I’ve had a mouse problem in my apartment for about 2 years now. The super initially just kept putting mouse traps. It took a lot of back and forth before the landlord brought someone to seal all the holes. The building is old and needs a lot of updates that is taking forever. Our laundry room is also being updated, so they’ve restricted hours. When I first moved, it was open 24/7. Then it switched to the room closing at 11 PM. Now, it’s temporarily closed until 6 PM while they fix things.
