Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of buildings managed by Alan Schall praise the friendly doormen, appealing amenities, and generally clean, safe environments. The staff is often described as helpful and accommodating. However, recurring issues include thin walls causing noise disturbances, inconsistent garbage management, and occasional water quality and pest concerns. Management responsiveness receives mixed feedback, with some residents noting slow or unresponsive handling of problems, especially regarding construction disturbances and maintenance of amenity spaces. Communication and maintenance consistency, particularly related to amenities and leasing processes, are areas recommended for improvement. Overall, tenants appreciate the community feel but suggest more reliable management responsiveness would enhance the living experience.

Glorified Hotel Good on the surface level terrible in reality

Pros

Friendly doorpeople for the most part

Cons

Very thin walls, can hear neighbors sneeze and whisper (seriously) Water turns brown 3-4 times a year Construction happening everywhere around the building Appliances have broken down 6-7 times a year Management is all over the place, unresponsive when you have an issue but overly aggressive when they have an issue, they regularly tape notices on all doors and leave advertisements on all apartment door handles
