Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants renting buildings under Kenneth Nagin report generally responsive management, often praised for timely maintenance, cleanliness, and attentive superintendents. Many appreciate great locations and well-kept amenities. However, persistent issues include occasional delays in repairs, noise from construction or neighbors, pest problems, and inconsistent garbage management. Some tenants experience cable of rent increases amid concerns about infrastructure aging and occasional poor communication. Rent-stabilized tenants sometimes feel management is less empathetic, citing hostility regarding lease concerns. Overall, while management is usually effective and approachable, potential renters should be prepared for typical NYC urban challenges and occasional service gaps in older properties.

Best location in manhattan

Pros

The location was everything. The building has all the amenities including dishwasher and laundry. It was a great layout to share with roommates.

Cons

The laundry and elevator were often out of order but the management was mostly responsive in fixing the issues.

Check for mold!

Pros

Location is great, very charming space, building management is responsive

Cons

Windows were never cleaned in my 2 years of living there, so dirty you couldn’t see out, we reported mold in the bathroom and instead of fully removing it the company slapped some paint over it, clearly filled with NYU college kids/recent post grad, bedrooms are small with confusing layouts, rent increases are not worth the cost

Advice to the owners

Clean the spaces!!!
