6 years and moving out

Pros

Location: few blocks away from the 1 train 5th floor: higher ceilings In unit washer/dryer Dishwasher Large kitchen

Cons

Entryway has never been cleaned the entire 6 years I’ve been here Super is the most unresponsive. Fixes are half-assed Stairs are STEEP and hot af in the summer Packages are not secure so theft has occasionally been an issue Rent goes up annually and for what? Heat is inconsistent throughout - some rooms are hellfire while others are freezing. Bathroom mold issues not properly addressed (no ventilation system) Front tub draining is always an issue

Advice to the owners

Actually seek feedback on how to improve. Show some care to the common spaces.

A lovely space to call home

Pros

Charming with its flaws and quirks but it truly is a beautiful old "brownstone-esque" building. The location for this upper area of the UWS cannot be beat (Mamas Too and Absolute Bagels are your neighbor) and access to Riverside park is amazing. The live in super Ainsley is very kind, and does a great job with the trash (all of it is tucked away down by the basement which is huge for cleanliness). A neighbor on the first floor keeps a lush flower garden outside of 219. Living here went beyond my expectations. Combo washer/dryer and dishwasher in unit. Oh also the unit is massive, we had two couches and a 4 person dining table in our living room, and the kitchen was a large separate room too.

Cons

We did have some roach issues in our unit but it was always addressed quickly, this is a gem of a place. There are also a ton of cracks in the walls which can be concerning and my unit was quite out of date in this way - could use updating!

Advice to the owners

I loved living here! 4W could use some updating in the near future but its a lovely unit.
