Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent reviews of buildings managed by Robert Spitalnick reveal recurring tenant frustrations with poor management responsiveness and upkeep. While some appreciate the convenient locations and certain apartment features, many report chronic issues: unaddressed heating problems, pest infestations, garbage overflow, and unsatisfactory building maintenance. The management is often described as difficult to reach, slow or unresponsive to repair requests. Security concerns, such as package theft and lack of functioning building cameras, are also noted. Rent increases and questionable handling of rent stabilization add to tenant dissatisfaction. Prospective renters should expect a well-located apartment but prepare for management challenges and ongoing maintenance shortcomings.

beware new owners

Pros

this has been such a lovely place to live (with its downsides for sure) until new management recently took over

Cons

the new landlords fired our super of 10 years, got rid of our front door keypad with no warning, let trash pile up until it spills into the halls, stopped sending regular pest control, are unresponsive and hostile to tenants, and are now trying to increase rent exponentially. definitely check building rental history because they’re listing apartments with made up unit numbers so that you can’t see the apartment was listed previously for 50% less. this landlord has a terrible reputation so just beware, i think it will only get worse.

Advice to the owners

be decent people
