Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant reviews for buildings managed by James Coleman show a mixed management experience. Some buildings have responsive management, clean common areas, and attentive supers, earning praise for location and well-maintained apartments. However, complaints about unresponsive or difficult management, poor cleanliness, garbage buildup, pest issues, and rude or inexperienced supers are common in other properties. Noise levels and construction disturbances are noted concerns in certain buildings. Renters advise improvements in maintenance responsiveness, pest control, proper garbage handling, and better communication. Overall, expect variability in management quality across James Coleman's buildings, with some well-run properties but others requiring significant attention and upgrades.

No one cares

Pros

Location, that’s it.

Cons

The super is the cousin of the previous super - meaning he’s not a skilled super and doesn’t know what he’s doing. He’s rude and arrogant and lets the garbage collect forever before emptying them (literally the only thing he does). There’s been an ongoing mouse issue for years that no one has done anything about. Avoid this over priced, shitty building. Also, our landlord is holding on to our deposit and legit said “I don’t care.” And the board isn’t helping at all.

Advice to the owners

Invest in a real super. Make your owned shops are renting out do upgrades to their units. Implement a system for the laundry that actually works (the app is garbage), and force tenants to abide by the proper area rug laws since the building is old and everything is so insanely loud.
