Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of M Millgraum's buildings appreciate the responsive and attentive superintendents who actively handle maintenance and garbage management. The buildings feature renovated units and secure entry, with generally clean common areas and pest control efforts in place. However, some residents report occasional roach sightings, noise from radiators and construction, and issues with prolonged or incomplete building repairs. Package theft and occasional water outages have been noted concerns. Communication and owner responsiveness receive mixed feedback, with calls for improved tenant relations and caution against steep rent hikes. Overall, tenants find the management functional and the buildings livable, with room for enhanced responsiveness and upkeep.

Nice and normal New York apartment building 2018

Pros

Nicest super. He would personally take everybody's trash from their apartment door for them. Responsive management. Our apartment was pest-free, although I believe some units had some bugs. Hallway and lobby were clean. Two locking front doors. We had a package thief, but it was probably a resident. Very quiet building. Great location. Not a luxury building, not a dump. Moved away for personal reasons.

Cons

There were some roaches in the building, not our apartment. Not sure about the severity. Services were being offered regularly by management to deal with the problem. Basement (laundry room) is dirty/cluttered and there were cats that were allowed to roam around down there. I didn't mind (cute cats were a plus actually) but some people might find it unappealing. This was years ago - around 2018.

Advice to the owners

I hope you keep up the good work.

No major complaints

Pros

Management is taking steps to improve the building—painting common hallways, updating chandeliers, our kitchen is fairly recently renovated

Cons

Super can be a bit hard to get ahold of. Occasional water issues where there’s no water or hot water for ~8 hrs with advance notice for maintenance. Moved fairly recently so still yet to see how big an issue this is long-term

Advice to the owners

Don’t force out good tenants with steep rent increases
