Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants consistently report poor pest control and cleaning in buildings managed by Samuel Kurz, with widespread issues involving rodents and insects. Garbage management is often rated low, contributing to an overall neglected environment. Heating systems can be unreliable and noisy, sometimes causing discomfort. Owner responsiveness varies, but many feel management is unresponsive or slow, leading to unresolved maintenance problems, including faulty smoke detectors and broken amenities. While some appreciate the location and occasional friendly staff, the consensus calls for significant improvements in maintenance, pest control, and management attentiveness to enhance tenant living conditions and building upkeep.

Save yourself the stress

Pros

Close to train stations and everyday essentials

Cons

Rats, mice, all pests imaginable. Super doesn’t put ANY money into the maintenance of the building, her and her kids use all the money on shopping sprees and the renovation of their personal apartments. Basement laundry only has 1 or 2 working machines for about 84 units. Random water outages with ZERO warning. Garbage isn’t well maintained, pest control comes and provides zero resolve. I can keep going forever.

Advice to the owners

Do the right thing and actually tend to the building and ensure we all have a quality of life. We pay too much money!

Awful building, do not recommend.

Pros

Big apartments. Good super. Decent pricing.

Cons

Building has vermin, dirty. Can not access basement after 7pm. Broken windows, floors, ceilings. Coffee spilled on the floor and leaked into the neighbors bedroom below. Druggies allowed to loiter. Cameras not functioning properly.

Advice to the owners

Just tear down the building and start over.
