It shows apartments for rent in Washington Heights that are marked pet-friendly and verified on Openigloo. Pet-friendly means pets may be allowed, but the building or unit can still set rules, fees, or limits.

No. Affordable on Openigloo is market-relative, and this page is not an official affordable-housing program. It is simply a filter for apartments with the rental and status criteria shown here.

Ask about pet fees, deposits, breed or weight limits, pet count limits, and whether the lease allows dogs, cats, or both. Some buildings also require paperwork such as vaccination records or landlord references.

The median rent is $3,000, so your budget should account for how the asking rent, bedroom count, and monthly extras like utilities and fees affect the total cost. A verified unit still needs a full lease review before you commit.

In this search scope, the most active nearby neighborhoods are East Village, Hell's Kitchen, Stuyvesant Town/PCV, Kips Bay, and Yorkville.

Location, building age, amenities, lease length, and pet rules can all change the real monthly cost. Even with a lower asking rent, fees or a shorter lease can make the apartment less affordable overall.
