Lots of issues
Pros
Really liked the location, so easy to get all around lower Manhattan and midtown. Also really liked being right by Flatiron and Union Square and EV. Was convenient having a washer/dryer in unit as well. Random pro was the shower water pressure was incredible
Cons
So many maintenance problems... our sink pipe was so old and unmaintained it corroded completely and all our dirty dishwater went straight into the cabinet below for a whole day and flooded out. Had to deal with so many cockroaches. Stove knobs broke off and got stuck and leaked gas into the apartment. Radiator in my room broke and leaked water so much it rotted the wooden floorboards underneath. Washing machine broke several times. One of the shelves in the freezer had been broken for a while but you could tell was superglued back together (which fell apart again). And also multiple entries by maintenance without prior notice. Maintenance feels impossible to request, we had to keep sending multiple emails to get them to come fix things, and usually they would respond saying someone would come (and often didn't). Additionally, our unit was on the 2nd floor facing 2nd Ave, and it was SO LOUD at all times. The nonstop street noise of the nearby hospitals and police station as well as just normal car and pedestrian noise got almost unbearable at times. Bedrooms are tiny, my room was around 60-ish sq ft.
Small but clean
Pros
Never had any bug or mice issues, they are good about taking trash out and clean building about once a week. They’re pretty good about coming to fix stuff. Washer dryer in unit.
Cons
The water pressure is bad and drains clogged easily. The apartment is small. Packages do get stolen occasionally. Rent increased a lot. 1 room has no closet.
Advice to the owners
Clean often
