Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 525 East 72 Street praise its spacious, well-lit apartments with large windows and fantastic river views. The building’s staff, including porters and doormen, receive high marks for friendliness and professionalism. Many renters enjoy the quiet environment and good neighbor relations. However, frequent complaints include unreliable elevator service, inconsistent AC and heating systems, and pest issues such as roaches and mice. Management is often described as slow or unresponsive, with recent ownership changes leading to rent hikes and reduced services. While amenities are solid, some renters note dated interiors and costly gym access, advising improvements in maintenance and communication.

Fine building for now, but worst days are ahead...
Former Tenant
Pros:
Building is well taken care of for now, staff is very nice, and amenities are solid. Views (depending on your specific unit) are fantastic and having the driveway in front and garage in rear of you keep a car are nice bonuses.
Cons:
Building is quite far removed from 'civilization' being all the way on the FDR drive. Management is non-existent and if you ever have anything come up regarding rent, charges, etc. you'll be speaking with AI. Ownership group promised unreasonable rent rolls to investors and are now solely focussed on squeezing as much out of each apartment, raising rents well beyond what's reasonable and what the market supports, having an already excessive amenity fee increase YoY and more. All for a building that's not perfect, with elevators that are slow and frequently broken/non-operational.
Advice to owner:
Stop chasing rents you can't get because you promised them to others. Restructure & stabilize, or sell at a discount to someone who can run the building normally and make money on the operation.

If you want to pay $6k to live with german roaches this is the place for you
Former Tenant
Pros:
beautiful building exterior
Cons:
There’s a german roach infestation in my fridge and apparently in the apartments above and below me. Also in apartments far away from me on high above floors (40+). Eltion is the manager and he is dismissive and slow to respond.
