Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 518 West 139 Street highlight spacious, renovated apartments with good finishes and generally responsive, kind management and superintendents. Tenants appreciate the organized garbage system, buzzer intercom, and family-oriented community. However, persistent pest control issues and occasional noise from neighbors pose challenges. Some note the lobby, entrance, and elevator as areas needing aesthetic and cleanliness improvements. While heating and water pressure are typically good, some concerns about mail theft and rent increases have been raised. Overall, renters find the building livable and recommend it, particularly valuing the management's responsiveness despite opportunities for better upkeep.

Overall a good experience
Former Tenant
Pros:
Generally a responsive super, renovated apt upon move-in, organized trash system, buzzer intercom to phone, kind landlord who is quick to attend to major repairs for my unit, office correspondence has improved
Cons:
Mail theft in lobby, which I realize is now a common problem in the city and not isolated to this building, loud neighbors at times, water temp/pressure needs some TLC after many years of working fine.
