Pros
Location is good, easy to get to the A/C trains at Franklin and Nostrand. Proximity to the rest of Bed Stuy, Clinton Hill, Crown Heights, Fort Greene, Prospect Heights and other Brooklyn neighborhoods is fantastic. Building has amenities which can be cool, but they’re lackluster at best.
Cons
Numerous issues with crime in the building, including homeless people trespassing and living in the building, teenagers hotboxing in shared spaces and repeatedly hanging outside on the roof, package thefts, even reports of an assault once. The surrounding neighborhood near the Franklin Ave station feels that it has gotten worse with more drug activity and transients. Building management has changed numerous times, from one random management company to another. Expect little to no care from management, rapidly changing policies, and delays in receiving returned security deposit (I do not expect to ever receive my deposit once I move out). Building amenities are pretty bad, the gym hasn’t been cleaned in over a year and much of the equipment is broken or stolen. There was a pool table that the trespassing teens somehow broke. Storage rooms for community use have been taken away with no explanation, yet were also included as a perk in the lease. It’s a good building with awful awful management.
Advice to the owners
What can you expect really? Same story that you’d hear around the city. Fine building but it’s in NYC so there’s gonna be problems. Management truly doesn’t care though as long as you’re paying rent, and that pisses me off.
Nice place for price
Pros
Lots of outdoor space. Decent amount of room.
Cons
Paper thin walls. Other tenants treat shared spaces poorly. Franklin Ave stop sucks compared to the others nearby.
