pervasive plumbing issues - management trying to sell out
Pros
Pre-war so you can barely hear your neighbors. Many of the apartments have been newly renovated with in-unit washer-driers and nice bathroom/kitchen finishes. Rooms are on the larger side. Very nice, quiet area with friendly neighbors. Package theft used to be a big issue but not so much right now. EDIT TO ADD: Very hot water!
Cons
Editing this because it's gotten WORSE. There have now been three superintendents in the past two years, and while the current super is fantastic, there obviously was no attempt made to facilitate a smooth handover. The building heat shut off on one of the coldest days of the year because we RAN OUT OF OIL. There have been issues with mice in multiple units. Property management is still doing the bare minimum in terms of maintaining the overall building. The other recent review is very obviously fake, because the water gets absurdly hot (not complaining about that!) -------------------------------------------------------------- In just the past year there have been plumbing issues/leaks in AT LEAST three separate lines (not just individual apartments, the WHOLE LINE). The pipes are old/corroded and management is seemingly uninterested in actually fixing the problem, just putting up quick patches. They're trying to sell the building right now so they're doing the bare minimum in terms of maintenance. Fired the previous super and brought in a new one, who is nice enough but doesn't seem super experienced.
