Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on openigloo.
Recent reviews for 2027 Menahan Street in Queens, NY highlight mixed experiences. Tenants appreciate the responsible maintenance team, renovated units, and great neighborhood, especially for rent-stabilized units. However, some mention small rooms and limited AC control. Concerns arise regarding slow responsiveness from the owner, poor pest control, and delayed fixes for maintenance issues, like mold and leaks. Advice includes improving owner responsiveness and hiring a better manager. Not all approve the owner or recommend the building, citing unresolved issues and lack of flexibility. Potential renters should weigh the pros against the cons before deciding to live here.

Landlord is not flexible
Former Tenant
Pros:
Landlord doesn’t bother you or show up
Cons:
A lot of the things wrong with the building do not get fixed or take forever to get fixed. Not enough ventilation in bathrooms, mold up and even after cleaning on a constant bases bugs were starting to show up from the pipes.
example: ceiling of my apartment had a leak and it was never fixed and i was living with mold growing on my ceiling.
Advice to owner:
Learn to be flexible with tenants, most of your lease are illegal specially the basements that are rented out as rooms.
