What does “recommended by renters” mean on this page?

It means Openigloo’s ranking uses renter feedback for these buildings, so you can focus on places where renters reported their experience. The final fit still depends on the specific unit and current management.

How does the “W train” filter work for Midtown South buildings?

This filter narrows results to buildings in Midtown South that are aligned with the W-train route for your commute. You should still verify walking time and transfer needs from the exact address you’re considering.

How many buildings match these filters right now?

There are 22+ Midtown South buildings on Openigloo that match both “recommended-by-renters” and the W-train filter in this snapshot.

Do renter recommendations guarantee a unit will be available or the same conditions will apply?

No. Recommendations reflect past renter experience, but availability and unit-specific conditions (view, noise level, layout, renovations) can vary. Always confirm details with the building’s leasing team.

What should I double-check before scheduling a viewing?

Confirm lease terms, move-in timing, and any building policies that affect you. Also ask about current fees and deposits so you understand the full move-in cost.

Are the renter signals based on apartments or the building overall?

They’re building-level signals informed by renter activity. For decision-making, use the building page to compare what renters say, then match it against your apartment-specific needs.

What to check before choosing a building recommended by renters near the W train in Midtown South

Use the W-train filter to keep your commute in mind, then compare the nearby building pages to see what renters commonly mention.
Start with renter recommendations: check how consistent the feedback is across multiple rated buildings, not just a single unit or date.
Confirm the practical details that matter for move-in: lease terms, move-in date flexibility, and any building-required documentation.
If a building has fees or required deposits, verify the full upfront cost (not just the monthly asking rent) with the current management team.
Before signing, ask about the exact apartment constraints tied to your unit (layout, floor, noise, and any limitations that affect your day-to-day use).
Use the open building page to see what renters say alongside the building’s available information, then follow up with questions directly to confirm what’s current.
