What does “pet-friendly” mean on this Openigloo page?

It means the building is flagged as allowing pets in Openigloo’s dataset, but it is not a guarantee of any particular pet. Each building can still set specific rules for type, size/weight, number of pets, and documentation.

How do I confirm the pet policy before moving in?

Request the pet policy in writing from the building’s leasing office or management. Specifically ask about allowed animals, breed/size limits, pet deposit/fees, and the required vet or vaccination documents.

Are there pet fees or deposits on top of the rent?

Often, yes. Fees and deposits can vary by building. Confirm whether there is a one-time pet fee, a refundable deposit, and whether there is any recurring pet rent or administrative fee.

Does the page mean the building is exactly on the X37 bus line?

Not necessarily. Use the X37 pairing as your navigation starting point, then confirm the walking time to the stops you will actually use during your commute hours.

What if my pet does not match the building’s limits?

If your pet exceeds weight/size or is on a restricted breed list, the building may deny the application or require additional conditions. Ask before you submit paperwork and keep copies of any approvals or exceptions in writing.

How reliable are the pet-friendly flags compared with real-world rules?

Openigloo pulls signals that help you shortlist, but building policies can change and vary by unit. Treat Openigloo as a starting filter and verify directly with the building before signing.

Is this filter related to any housing assistance or rent-restriction program?

No. This is a pet-friendly search filter paired with an X37 proximity filter, not income-restricted housing, subsidized housing, NYCHA, HPD, Section 8, or a housing-lottery program.
