Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants generally find John Frezza's buildings well-located with spacious, rent-stabilized options and appreciating doormen and maintenance staff. Management is often responsive and respectful, with attentive live-in supers noted as a strong positive. Common areas and amenities like gyms and laundry rooms receive mixed feedback—some request better upkeep, cleaning, and modernization. Pest control is inconsistent; some units report roach issues while others praise effective extermination efforts. Heat and water sometimes have issues, with occasional brown water and noise complaints from street-facing units or neighbors. Some reviews mention management's uneven responsiveness and occasional hostility toward tenant concerns, indicating room for improved communication and professional staff oversight.

Great building, friendly staff

Pros

Great apartments, staff is friendly and helpful, responsive maintenance and pest control (some years better than others). Highly recommend

Cons

Building mostly stays on top of cockroach extermination, but occasionally exterminator has been a no show and infestations would get bad in those times
