Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenants of buildings managed by Alex Piroozian praise the cleanliness, modern updates, and good location, with many highlighting quiet, friendly neighbors and effective garbage management. Regular pest control and decent heating are noted, although occasional bugs and some noisy heating pipes occur. Management responsiveness varies widely; some tenants report timely attention, while others experience frustrating delays and poor communication with maintenance and superintendents. Security deposit returns can be slow, and there are concerns about unresolved issues like roof leaks and problematic neighbors. Overall, while properties are well-kept and in desirable areas, management consistency and responsiveness could be improved.

Nice area, management and super are not the best

Pros

Great area, quiet street, and the apartments are nice and updated

Cons

Management and the super are not responsive at all. Will take days to respond to an email and it can take literal months to get something done right. At one point the front door to the apartment was jammed and there was no way to leave the apartment. The super just put tape on the lock so our apartment was wide open.

Great Unit, Horrible Neighbor

Pros

Good price for neighborhood, owners seem to care about the building, pest control offered once a month, there is a cleaner for hallway spaces, packages aren’t ever stolen, appliances work great so far, unit looks well taken care of, close to subway stop at 72nd.

Cons

There’s a mentally unstable neighbor on the 3rd floor who has yelling episodes most nights anywhere from 10pm to 6am in the morning. Found this out after moving in and the owner said they have been working to evict her since they bought the building 10 years ago. Doesn’t seem like she’s going anywhere but she is loud and when police are called they don’t do anything to help her. If you’re looking for a quiet building this isn’t it. It is an old building so heating pipes are a bit noisy and tap water is a bit weird but that’s to be expected.
