Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Recent tenant feedback on Adam Verner's buildings reflects a mixed picture. While renters appreciate affordability, convenient locations, and some helpful staff, significant issues persist. Common complaints include inconsistent and poor heating, persistent pest problems, delayed or minimal management responsiveness, and occasional building cleanliness and security concerns, such as loitering and package theft. Noise from neighbors and hallway disturbances also negatively impact residents' experience. Some buildings show potential with renovations and proximity advantages, but overall management is often seen as slow or insufficient in addressing maintenance and tenant concerns. Prospective renters should weigh these factors when considering units under this landlord.

not the best, not the worst

Pros

- rent was cheap for manhattan - somehow our electricity bill was pretty low too - close to the 1 train - no major pest issues thankfully; monthly exterminator services - super was generally helpful when you were able to get in touch

Cons

- heating was super inconsistent, both in the rooms and in the shower - super/management were hard to reach at times - random people loitering in the lobby often - packages were stolen occasionally - no laundry available in this building, but access to laundry in a different building nearby (not super convenient)

This building has so much potential to be Nicer!

Pros

The area is OK and definitely diverse Building is one of the nicer buildings in the neighborhood. Lots of college students Friendly neighbors

Cons

The rent controlled Family in apt 2A has been in the building 20+ years. They take over the building. They are always leaving stuff in the hallway, slamming their apt door, screaming in the hallway, the elderly woman and daughter run up and down the stairs at all hours of the day and night and they sit outside the building all summer long with chairs intimidating newly arrived Market Rate paying tenants. The family is constantly screaming in and out of the building with no regard to other residents. Me and other neighbors have complained about this and nothing is done. You have kids playing basketball in the hallways and management is not on Top of these complaints.
