Review summary

Summarized from anonymous rental reviews on Openigloo.

Tenant feedback for buildings managed by David Ohebshalom reveals consistent issues with cleanliness, pest control, and garbage management, often leading to uncomfortable living conditions including rodents and poor maintenance. Heating and water systems are sometimes unreliable, and noise levels and neighborhood safety are concerns in certain buildings. While some tenants acknowledge a good location and decent-sized units, responsiveness from management is mixed—ranging from slow to fairly attentive, with superintendents often praised as a positive factor. Rent increases and communication problems have also contributed to dissatisfaction. Overall, renters should expect management struggles balancing upkeep and tenant needs, despite a few proactive efforts.

Don't live here

Pros

Location is very central. Decent sized space for the area.

Cons

Roaches, mice, constant plumbing issues. Radiators work 50% of the time. Hot water will be off randomly with no notice. ConEd turned the gas off to the whole building for multiple weeks due to the buildings lack of maintenance. Stairwell is dirty, always in a state of "repair".

Do not live here

Pros

Ok the space is fine, decently clean, good appliances. Super is great as long as you are kind!

Cons

Horrible experience with upstairs tenant (911 called on many occasions, came down fire escape towards our window, horrible noise, ended up being evicted.) Horrible communication with management.

Advice to the owners

To management: just be a better human. We shouldn’t ever feel have felt unsafe for what we paid in rent.
