What does “49-st” mean on this buildings page?

“49-st” is a location filter for buildings near 49 St station in NYC, so the results focus on that station-area match.

What does “best-heat” mean here?

“best-heat” is a heat-focused performance filter. It’s based on Openigloo’s building signals tied to how renters describe heating, alongside relevant open-data context where available.

Are these buildings guaranteed to have good heat in every unit?

No. Heat can vary by unit layout, exposure, and building systems. Use this page to shortlist buildings, then confirm the heating setup and recent issue history with the building.

How should I use building reviews when I care about heat?

Look for repeated, specific notes about temperature consistency and how quickly problems were handled. One-off complaints matter less than patterns that match the season you plan to move.

What questions should I ask the building before signing a lease?

Ask how heat is maintained during peak cold periods, whether there are any known recurring issues, and what the reporting/repair timeline looks like if temperatures run low.

Do I need to worry about fees or extra costs beyond rent?

Yes. Even with a heat-focused filter, total monthly cost can change with deposits, utilities, and any building fees. Confirm the full breakdown before committing.

How current is the 67+ building count?

The count is a live snapshot as of 2026-07-07 and can change as buildings add or remove availability and as Openigloo updates signals.
