What to check before choosing a building highly rated for heat in Turtle Bay

Start with the heat-related filter, then check the building’s overall rating on Openigloo to gauge consistency across rated buildings.
Ask management to explain heat controls for the unit (how thermostats work, whether radiators or other systems are used, and who services them).
Confirm heat’s delivery and reliability in your exact layout (studio vs. larger units can vary), and ask what happens during cold snaps.
Read any posted rules on window/thermostat usage and maintenance access, since these can affect how reliably heat holds.
When you apply or sign, compare the full monthly cost (rent plus any required fees), not just whether the building is “heat-positive.”
If anything is unclear in reviews, use tenant Q&A (where available) to ask follow-up questions about timing, repairs, and responsiveness.
