What to check before choosing a building recommended by renters near the M98 bus in Washington Heights

Expect a shortlist of 23+ Washington Heights buildings that renters flagged as good options near the M98 bus—start by comparing building basics side by side.
Confirm what “recommended” means for you: check recent feedback on noise, heat/hot water reliability, super responsiveness, and overall condition.
Before signing, verify current availability for your target move-in date and ask how the building handles renewals, repairs, and maintenance requests.
Budget for the full monthly cost beyond the asking rent (fees, deposits, and utilities can change your effective monthly total).
If you’re comparing multiple options, prioritize buildings with clear answers in tenant Q&A over listings that are light on specifics.
