What does “best-heat” mean on Openigloo?

It’s a filter that surfaces buildings with stronger heat-related signals. It’s meant to help you narrow down options, but it doesn’t replace asking the building directly about day-to-day heating for the specific unit.

How does the “m1-bus” filter work for South Harlem?

It narrows results to buildings near the M1 bus route in South Harlem. You should still confirm the exact address/block impact during your visit (walking distance, street noise, and window exposure).

Are these buildings guaranteed to have reliable heat?

No filter can guarantee outcomes for every unit. Use Openigloo’s heat signals and renter Q&A to shortlist, then confirm details with the building for your specific apartment and lease term.

How many rated buildings are in South Harlem for this page’s scoring context?

South Harlem has an average building rating of 3.2/5 across 87 rated buildings. Use that context to compare the overall signal, then check each building’s specifics.

What should I ask the landlord about heat before signing?

Ask about the heating schedule, how temperature is controlled in your unit, what happens during complaints, maintenance response steps, and whether there are any patterns noted by current or recent tenants.

Can I rely on the data without touring?

You can use it to pre-screen, but you should plan at least one tour. Heat issues can vary by unit, floor, and time of year, so verify in person and through direct building questions.
