What does “best-heat” mean on Openigloo?

It’s a filter built from Openigloo signals that prioritize heat performance and renter feedback patterns. Use it as a starting screen, then still verify specifics with the building’s management or superintendent.

How does this page relate to the M23-SBS bus?

This is a multi-filter scope: it combines the “best-heat” filter with proximity to the M23-SBS bus corridor in Manhattan. Review the building details to confirm the exact walk time and route convenience for your schedule.

Are these buildings guaranteed to have heat that works the way I expect?

No filter can guarantee individual-unit outcomes. Even in highly rated buildings, comfort can vary by unit layout, exposure, and system condition—so confirm the process for maintenance requests and what responsiveness looks like.

What should I ask the super or leasing office before applying?

Ask how heating is managed in your specific unit type, who responds to heat complaints, typical repair timelines, and whether any current work orders or recurring issues are affecting performance.

Do “best-heat” results account for utility costs?

Not automatically. Heat quality and monthly cost are related but separate—always confirm whether heat is included and what other utilities you’re responsible for, then budget the full monthly amount.

Where does the heat information come from?

Openigloo uses a mix of review-based signals and open-data signals to surface patterns. Conditions can change, so use the data to guide questions and verification, not as a final assurance.

Which neighborhoods are trending?
